A NEW GENERATION

Tony Gonzalez, is the current owner and operator of Sun Ridge Building Co. LLC and has over 15 years’ experience in custom home & commercial construction. Tony got started in construction in Eugene in 1998 joining Harvey & Price Co. working on both estimating and project managing of commercial construction projects.

In 2001, Tony moved to Bend after discussing a job opportunity with his future father-in-law at the time, Jack Tebbs. Tony took a job at Sun Ridge Building Company later that year in June of 2001, he got his feet wet during a very busy time for the construction industry in Central Oregon.

Working for and learning from Jack Tebbs, master builder & founder of Sun Ridge Building Company, Tony learned like an apprentice the appreciation and art of custom home building from the master craftsman himself. Tony excelled in the operations of how to run a busy construction company being mentored by Jack directly for many years. Tony developed a passion and appreciation for craftsmanship, an eye for quality and attention to detail that it takes to build a truly distinct custom home and it only seems fitting that after years of teaching the tradecraft to Tony, that Jack Tebbs has retired after over 50 years in construction and has passed on the Sun Ridge name for Tony & Heidi to carry into the future.

A FAMILY'S LEGACY

After 50 years of custom home building, Jack Tebbs, the master builder and founder of Sun Ridge Building Company, now enjoys a well-deserved retirement. The Sun Ridge Building legacy, spanning over five decades, originated in the tranquil surroundings of Lake Tahoe. The sweet scent of Jeffery Pine, brisk morning air, and the symphony of hammers and saws marked the inception of an enduring obsession—an art and craft that shaped his impressive career, a legacy of custom homes built that also echoed throughout Southern and Central Oregon.

What sets Jack's story apart is his unwavering commitment to keeping family at the forefront. His sons joined him in the trade from a young age, learning to mix mortar and set stone, move, and cut lumber. At times living at the project home while project neared completion was not uncommon during those early years and summers were spent by his sons camping at or near the jobsite, he always kept them working. Regardless, the outcome remained constant— the bond of a family of craftsmen working together, sharing a profound understanding of the obsession and art behind the most distinguished custom homes. With Deb by his side, their remarkable entrepreneurial spirit and drive continue to inspire everyone they encounter, even today.
